Driving Instructor Training Costs

Posted on Wednesday 16th May, 2012 at 15:05 COMMENTS (0)

We believe that you deserve the best possible training without it costing you more than you need to pay.

Costs and requirements

Driving Instructor training typically costs between £2500 - £4000 to complete an entire course although, some savvy, sales orientated companies will have you believe their course will shave hundreds if not thousands off the price.

To establish what a fair, realistic price is, it's important to understand the requirements in place to become an Approved Driving Instructor (car).

The Driving Standards Agency, (DSA) current requirements outline anybody wishing to take the trainee licence Must undertake and complete 40 training hours plus an optional 20 training hours or be supervised for a stipulated period.

Remember, that's just for the part 3, but you'll also need to consider the entire qualifying process, both the theory and practical driving elements need to be at a satisfactory level of achievement.  It's not unreasonable to suggest that even the most talented will benefit from some level of training.

Clever marketing

Polished sales literature and exaggerated marketing will easily mislead uninformed and naive individuals.

This type of marketing will highlight certain aspects of a training course but fail to identify all the necessary details that need to be fulfilled or disclosed by other training bodies.

These shortcuts are typically sharing the training with a training buddy, or training with a non-instructor trainer or video tutorials and worksheets so reducing costs but depriving the trainee of vital participation in a well structured learning environment.

For example, it would be easy for us to suggest a Driving Instructor training course in Thurrock is only £200 and get sourced with a variety of individuals expecting to become driving instructors.

In reality this would likely mean failures or more importantly negative feedback due to being deprived of quality training.

Before opting for a particular training provider, ask plenty of questions to determine all requirements and services provided then the course fee will probably be more acceptable.

Then all you need to consider is how you're going to pay for the training but that's another story.
