How to apply

Compass Driving Instructor Training(previously Alan's Instructor Training) has been established for over 18 years and is a highly respected training establishment. We are very proud of the professional service we provide to our trainees and our links with our favoured driving schools.

Our associated driving schools are looking to recruit highly motivated, patient and reliable ADI's who have received a recent grading of 5 or they may consider applications from Grade 4 instructors who have the intention of improving their grades and would like to continue their training with Compass Driving Instructor Training.

Flexible contracts with staggered start up options and the choice of using a school vehicle or your own vehicle are offered by the schools.

The driving schools will require references and also evidence of your ADI number and check test grading before working together.

As a Registered Training Establishment, we have the benefits of being able to offer CPD training to those who are committed to giving the best possible service to our customers. We also encourage the Advanced Driving courses to further broaden your qualifications, which will benefit you by giving you variety in your work and potentially higher earnings

Informal interviews

By now you have read through our information pack and will be keen to take matters further. Before any decisions, can be made by either party, we believe it is important to have a one-to-one meeting. This is your chance to meet us and to ask any outstanding questions. It is also our opportunity to assess your suitability and provide the best possible advice about your potential new career.

It is not in our best interests to recruit unsuitable trainees, so you can be sure of an honest opinion. We need committed individuals who will enjoy their new career.

Please Involve your Partner or Spouse

Often career changes involve partners or spouses. If you have a partner or spouse, or indeed any other family member or friend who is taking an interest in your proposed career change, and whose opinion you value, then please feel free to bring them along to the meeting. We will welcome them into the discussion.

Interviews

We will arrange interviews regularly, at a time convenient to you.
We usually interview at our offices in Basildon.

When you have identified a location, simply telephone our customer helpline on 01268 725555. If the venue is not suitable for you, we can often make alternative arrangements. If successful at interview we will make a guaranteed training position offer to you in writing very soon after the meeting. We then give you an unlimited amount of time in which to decide. We don't mind if you decide not to go ahead - it is better to make the correct decision at the outset than to have to cancel the training and job placement commitments at a later date. Once you have decided to go ahead we will be able to make arrangements to start your course.
